One of a photographer’s favourite photographic opportunities is a destination wedding. All weddings are beautiful, but when couples choose to orchestrate their wedding ceremonies and festivities around a favourite location, photographers can be sure the day will be filled with opportunities to capture some incredible panoramic memories.
As professional photographers with years of experience in Indian wedding photography, we were understandably delighted to be chosen to ply our skills at the joining of Shruti and Jason. Shruti and Jason are an amazing couple who decided to celebrate the start of their new life of marital bliss with a ceremony performed at a spectacular beachside hotel in Goa at the Park Hyatt Resort & Spa.
In a celebration-taking place over several days, we were able to take full advantage of a range of lighting conditions, outfits, and even some animal life. Shruti and Jason both enjoy the company of the equine persuasion, so it only seemed appropriate to capture some sweet beachside moments of the delightful couple with their faithful steed. How magnificent does Jason look astride his magnificent horse; ready to gallop in and whisk his princess away to the life she deserves. One of our favourite shots during our time with them is while they are taking a leisurely stroll along the beach, barefoot, with the horse in tow. A moment in time, captured for eternity and showing just how compatible these two are for each other.
Traditional Hindu attire for the bride and groom provided an eye-catching contrast to the golden sandy beaches and the crystal blue of the ocean; the perfect backdrop to a picture-perfect wedding.
Both couples were resplendent in their chosen outfits for the wedding ceremony, with Jason maintaining full traditional attire in a flamboyantly decorated red and gold turban, which flowed down to provide a nice contrast to a creamy white jacket and pants and a matching red shawl to balance the whole look.
Likewise, Shruti looked divine in her traditional bold red outfit, created of mostly plain red, punctuated with a gold band, and embroidered with gold scrollwork throughout. Shruti also went with similarly elaborately decorated headwear, with a veil hemmed in red, and embroidered with the same gold scrollwork as the dress. Despite the stunning detail in the design, Shruti’s dupetta (headwear) of choice managed to add to the whole look without drawing too much attention away from the rest of the outfit.
The wedding ceremony is understandably a serious affair, with the bride and groom required to act with appropriate composure to suit the occasion. Emotions were obviously running high, as we captured the full gamut of human expression from serious, to over-the-moon happy.
Photographic opportunities were abundant at this wedding, and both Jason and Shruti wore their hearts on their sleeves. Nothing was hidden from our lens, as we captured them dancing in a park of lush green grass, playing on the beach, and enjoying time with their family and friends.
It’s plain to see that this relationship is overflowing with love and appreciation and we are proud to have been made a part of it, if ever so briefly. We wish Shruti and Jason a long and happy life together; they certainly deserve it.
